Methodist Women News

Clintwood United Methodist Women’s group did not meet in June or July. Work continued, however, as we hosted a going-away luncheon for Pastor Rance Edwards after church on June 10. The group resumed meeting on August 9, 2018, with Betty Wood in charge of program and refreshments.

The group is considering purchases of a warming unit for food for the kitchen and a popcorn maker to use for church events.

Some important dates were set for September and October:

September 16—Congregation lunch with accepted donations after church, with sandwiches and various salads set for the menu.

Friday, September 28—Rummage/Yard Sale—only household items—no clothes;

October 11—Annual Harvest and Hot Dog Lunch Sale;

CUMW Halloween Trick or Treat in front of the church—Donations of candy and hot chocolate are appreciated. The date for this event is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 31, but may change to coincide with the date set by the town;

The group meets on the second Thursday of every month at 1pm and welcomes all women of the church who want to serve, to study, to worship, and to fellowship together.
